Campaign to defend education Jess Hurd/reportdig efence self-d cting in A Andrew Morris and Sarah Lyons set out NUT plans to continue the campaign to defend education. Find out how you can take part – including further days of strike action in October. Last term’s regional strike action in the north west on 27 June showed how strongly teachers support the joint NUT and NASUWT campaign to defend pay, conditions and education. Parents, students, governors and the public joined us at our Rallies for Education to make clear that they share our feelings of anger and frustration at the Government’s actions. Now the campaign continues into the autumn term. We’re building on the fantastic support we received with further rallies in September. In October, we will continue our campaign with further strike action in regions in England outside the north west. If Michael Gove doesn’t back down, there will be a one-day, all-out national strike before the end of the autumn term.
