MU
Working Together for Music Education
The NUT and the Musicians’ Union launched a partnership agreement in February to promote the importance of music education. The majority of class and instrumental music teachers in the UK are now represented between the two unions.
The partnership agreement includes joint membership deals for NUT/MU members, bespoke continual professional development work and joint projects with the Music for Youth festival series.
If you are a music teacher who teaches privately or a musician who undertakes playing work then it is worthwhile looking at what benefits and services this discounted MU membership can offer.
The MU website has a resource pack for musicians who teach. It also has a Teachers’ section. For more details visit http://www.themu.org/advice-downloads/education or email teachers@themu.org.
