EAP Outcomes
Equal Access to Promotion (EAP) is a leadership CPD course for black & ethnic minority (BME) teachers with 4+ to 12 years of teaching experience, some 'middle leadership experience' plus aspirations to gain promotion to more senior leadership roles/responsibilities.
Launched in 2001 by the NUT's CPD Programme, Equal Access to Promotion has evolved into a national programme designed, organised, funded and overseen in partnership by the National Union of Teachers and The National College (for School Leadership).
These outcomes from recent courses/participants will be extended as further courses are completed.
* Leadership Studies by individual participants.
As the final element of each EAP course, following a face-to-face tutor-led seminar, each participant complete a leadership study in their own teaching situation around their chosen theme. Examples are available below.
i) Parental participation in school activities by Delroy Dunkley (Secondary)
ii) Intervention programme for underachieving pupils in KS 2 by Ivie Okwegbuna (Primary)
iii) Alternative to Fixed Term External Exclusion by Vivienne Hoyte (Secondary)

NUT CPD Programme
Welcome to the Continuing Professional Development Programme provided by the National Union of Teachers. NUT CPD Programme is open to all teachers and school leaders – both members and others – at every stage of their careers. The Union’s not-for-profit aim is to provide high quality professional learning at low cost to participants and their schools. NUT members can participate at reduced fees and, on some courses, free sometimes. Our approaches draw on evidence about successful CPD; our independent tutors are leaders in their fields; our venues are chosen for being conducive to learning. Evaluations by participants tell us, consistently, that this combination has a positive impact on their pupils and schools; as well as helping them meet their own learning and career needs and aspirations. NUT CPD is a service and a benefit not to be missed. |
