The Commonwealth Teachers Group (CTG) is gravely concerned for the safety of the 234 school girls abducted from the Government College in Chibok, on 14th April. The safety and security of pupils while at school is of paramount importance. The CTG utterly condemns the seizure of these female students while at school and has agreed a statement which you can read here.
The Commonwealth Teachers’ Group carried out a survey of accessibility and use of ICT in Commonwealth countries in 2012. The report of the survey illustrates the diverse experiences of teachers in Commonwealth countries. Recommendations from the survey are currently being agreed.
The NUT played a key role in supporting the Teachers’ Forum, held during the 18th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers this August. A key aim of the Forum, was to provide a voice for teachers’ to communicate with Education Ministers. Through a process of consensus delegates prepared this statement.
