Pupil behaviour

All teachers manage both good and inappropriate pupil behaviour each day as part of the teaching role. The NUT provides support for its members at every stage of their career and this is no different for behaviour management. Being part of the Union and an NUT group in your workplace means that concerns about behaviour can be made a collective issue and not just a focus on any individual teacher.

CPD Training Courses: Good behaviour management

The NUT recognises that good behaviour management is a central aspect of high-quality teaching and learning. We also recognise that poor behaviour is a source of considerable stress for teachers and that behaviour management is an area in which most teachers have received very little training or support. Therefore, the NUT offers a number of courses which take place in a supportive, no-blame environment with fellow professionals and feature a combination of up-to date theory and research combined with practical strategies for use in any classroom.
