Kevin Courtney was the candidate with the highest number of votes and has, therefore, been elected as General Secretary. Election of National Officers: 2016-2018 Senior and Junior vice-President, Treasurer and Examiners of Accounts
Voting in the elections for Senior and Junior Vice-President and Treasurer for 2016-2018 closed at midday Wednesday, 18 November 2015. The following have been elected.
Senior Vice-President - Louise Regan
Junior Vice-President - Kiri Tunks
Treasurer - Ian Murch
Examiners of Accounts - Judy Moorhouse and Alyson Palmer - elected unopposed

Confirmation of the result was printed in the January 2016 edition of The Teacher magazine. Copies will also be held at each regional office and the NUT Wales Office for members to inspect. Elections are conducted in accordance with trade union legislation (for the statutory elections which are Senior & Junior Vice-President, Treasurer, Executive members including equality constituency seats and General Secretary) and also relevant rules of the Union. It is essential that these rules are followed at all stages of elections, including the nomination stage. The election for Deputy General Secretary is conducted under the same arrangements. The elections for National Disciplinary Panel and National Appeals Committee are conducted under the relevant Union rules.
