About the delegation:
Following a successful programme in summer 2017, the NEU – NUT Section is once again organising a teacher exchange visit to Nicaragua.
This project is a partnership project between the NEU – NUT Section, ANDEN (the Nicaraguan teachers’ union), the Nicaraguan Ministry of Education and the Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign Action Group.
The project seeks to build the English language skills and pedagogical techniques of teaching English of Nicaraguan colleagues. Simultaneously. the exchange aims to build the experience and skills of Spanish language teachers from the UK, providing an immersive teaching experience in the Nicaraguan education system.
We are seeking 10 members to take part in this unique experience. Please note that members must be fluent in Spanish and be comfortable in international contexts. Part of the exchange will involve staying with a host family, an experience that proved enjoyable for last year’s participants, all of whom were welcomed warmly by the families. However, Nicaragua is a country in which family incomes are low, resulting in a way of life that is likely to be different from the UK. Individuals are asked to consider this before applying.
This opportunity is being offered at no cost to participants. The NUT Section will cover the cost of flights and arrangements for participants’ accommodation will be made by ANDEN.
How to apply:
To apply, please complete the application form and return to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, 23 February 2018. Please note that interviews will be conducted in Spanish via Skype during the week commencing 12 March 2018.
