The 2018 Send My Friend to School Campaign, of which the NEU is a key supporter, focuses on making schools safe across the globe by asking the UK Government to implement the Safe Schools Declaration. This event will be an opportunity for audience members to learn the importance of the Declaration from Professor Steven Haines, the author of the International Guidelines for Protecting Schools from Military Use during Armed Conflict - a key tenet of the Declaration. Amy Kapit, Research Director at the Global Campaign to Protect Education from Attack, will set the context of education in conflict across the globe as she presents findings from the newly launched report Education Under Attack 2018.Participants will also hear more about the Send My Friend to School Campaign from two Campaign Champions, including how they can get involved.
