Wales’s largest teaching union has welcomed the Welsh Government’s announcement of £5m to improve broadband technology in schools.
NUT Cymru Secretary, David Evans, said:
“Digital technology is increasingly playing an important role in classrooms across Wales. Teachers are constantly seeking to use the newest ways of engaging pupils and making lessons as interactive as possible. Schools are also conscious of the need to reflect the ever growing role of technology in society and the workplace as well as committing to the implementation of the Digital Framework.
“This investment will be welcomed as often it is not the pupils, teachers or schools that are lagging behind the technology but access to the resources themselves. Hopefully this money will enable more schools to utilise broadband speeds that allow their lessons to continue to inspire pupils.”
