Swansea NUT members have been forced to continue further strike action today and tomorrow, alongside NASUWT colleagues as part of ongoing industrial action to protect the service which provides for the most vulnerable of Swansea’s children.
Divisional Secretary, Paul Bedford said:
“Our members do not want to take this action but feel that they have been forced into it due to seriously flawed proposals and the refusal of the LA to undertake meaningful consultation.
“This is a principled stand against cuts which are wholly financially driven and fail to protect educational provision and standards.
“It is disappointing that the LA has made no effort to meet to resolve the issues, since the 2 days of action in May. NUT Cymru remains committed to working alongside the NASUWT in order to resolve this issue in the best interests of members and ultimately parents and pupils.”
